UPDATE 30 AUGUST
For several weeks now the plants have been producing quite a few delicious and very meaty tomatoes. The plants continue to increase in size and flower.
I had a few extra plants and planted them behind my bloc in sand and while I do not have a pic here of those, they have produced fruit as well. Although they are much smaller and green. Really it is a miracle they survived at all.
My little tomatoes are poppin! There are lots and lots – yipee! Also included a closer look at my red cabbage.

Eram foarte norocoasă ca am primit un pachet semințe de dovleac marele albastru – ca și cum creste o sa scriu mai mult și pun mai multe pozele!
I was very lucky to receive a packet of seeds of this plant – as it grows I will continue to write more and post more pictures.
Baby Lettuce Plants
If you want to grow fresh lettuce find a space, it is easy and very cheap. A packet of seeds costs less than 50 euro cents and there are 1500 + seeds in a package. You can plant a few seeds each week that will produce fresh lettuce from spring to autumn.
Lettuce does not like full sun all day, it prefers part shade. You can take some leaves from each plant as it grows, or wait until it has reached maturity and take the whole plant. If you wait too long it will “Bolt” and produce seed and it will taste bitter.
Find a space in a simple pot or plant bed, or you can even plant vertically in a garden wall planter (more about making a garden wall planter in another post with details soon.)
Lettuce – Lactuca sativa
There are many types. It grows better and easier in spring and autumn, but of course it grows in the summer only you must be more attentive in the heat of the summer. Lettuce is a herbaceous vegetable plant with large rounded leaves and is cultivated for its large leaves, which are generally consumed raw. Prefers part shade.
